About Masa

Hi there! I'm Luisa, the baker behind Masa, a home micro-bakery based in Austin, TX. I started Masa to share my love of baking and the Mexican flavors I grew up with. The name Masa comes from Masa Madre—the Spanish term for sourdough starter. To me, Masa represents the absolute root of baking: patience, life, and heritage. I specialize in small-batch sourdough loaves, sourdough baked goods, and custom cakes that blend the deep, complex flavors of natural fermentation with the vibrant, comforting tastes of my Mexican childhood and culture.
